SMS Program
SMS Terms & Opt-In Consent
Effective Date: April 24, 2026 | Last Updated: April 24, 2026
This page describes the Line Operations SMS messaging program, how linemen provide consent to receive text messages, and how to stop receiving messages at any time. This page is referenced in our A2P 10DLC campaign registration and is provided publicly so that anyone — including carriers, regulators, and end users — can review our messaging practices.
1. Program Overview
Program Name: Line Operations Job Dispatch
Operator: Line Operations
Purpose: To send job opportunity notifications, job assignment details, and related dispatch communications to linemen who have been enrolled in the platform by a contractor or employer.
Message Type: Transactional / operational. This is not a marketing program. Messages relate exclusively to work opportunities and the operational logistics of the recipient's trade.
2. How Linemen Opt In
Line Operations is a business-to-business dispatch platform. Linemen are enrolled in the system by a contractor or employer who has engaged Line Operations to dispatch work. Because the SMS program is operated on behalf of the contractor for the linemen they work with, consent is collected through the contractor at the time of enrollment, as follows:
- Verbal or written disclosure by the contractor. Before a lineman's mobile number is entered into Line Operations, the contractor informs the lineman — verbally, in writing, or through an enrollment form — that they will receive SMS job dispatch messages from Line Operations on behalf of the contractor.
- Affirmative consent by the lineman. The lineman expressly agrees to receive these messages and provides their mobile number for that purpose. Consent is never bundled into unrelated agreements and is never a condition of employment.
- Enrollment in the platform. The contractor then enters the lineman's name, mobile number, and region into Line Operations. Numbers are only added after the consent described above has been obtained.
- Welcome confirmation. The lineman receives an initial welcome text from Line Operations identifying the program, describing message content and frequency, referencing message-and-data-rates, and confirming the STOP and HELP keywords. This gives the lineman a final, in-channel confirmation of what they have consented to.
Sample Consent Script Used by Contractors
Contractors that enroll linemen through Line Operations are required to use language substantially similar to the following when obtaining consent:
Live Demo of the Opt-In Experience: A working demo of the lineman onboarding and opt-in flow is publicly available at lineoperations.com/sample-onboarding. This demo shows the exact screens and consent language a lineman sees when being enrolled in the dispatch platform, including the SMS consent checkbox, program disclosures, and opt-in submission flow.
In-App SMS Terms & Privacy: The SMS Terms and Privacy Policy presented to linemen inside the onboarding flow are published at lineoperations.com/sample-sms-terms. The in-app content mirrors the terms published on this site and is provided so carriers, TCR reviewers, and regulators can verify consistency between the consent language shown to the end user and the terms published publicly.
A copy of this consent script, along with a sample enrollment form used by participating contractors, is maintained on file by Line Operations and is available to carriers and regulators upon request.
3. Welcome Message (Sent After Opt-In)
After a lineman is enrolled and has consented as described above, the following welcome message is sent to confirm the opt-in:
4. Sample Messages You May Receive
The following are representative examples of the messages an enrolled lineman may receive:
5. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies — typically 1–20 messages per week, and may be higher or lower during active storm restoration events. We do not send messages outside of this operational context.
6. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Line Operations does not charge for messages sent through this program, but your mobile carrier may charge you for sending or receiving SMS messages depending on your plan. Please consult your carrier for details.
7. How to Opt Out
You can stop receiving messages at any time. Simply reply STOP (or any of the following keywords) to any message you receive from Line Operations:
Capitalization, punctuation, and surrounding text do not affect your opt-out — replying with any of the above keywords in any form will stop messages.
After we receive your opt-out request, you will receive a single confirmation message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and you will not receive any further SMS messages from Line Operations unless you re-enroll. The confirmation message reads:
Alternative Ways to Opt Out
If you are unable to reply via text, you may also opt out by:
- Emailing [email protected] with your mobile number and a request to be removed.
- Contacting the contractor or employer who enrolled you and asking them to remove you from the dispatch list.
8. How to Get Help
Reply HELP to any message from Line Operations and you will receive a response with contact information and a link to this page.
You may also contact us directly at [email protected].
The response to a HELP keyword reads:
9. Re-Enrollment After Opt-Out
If you have opted out and wish to start receiving messages again, you may:
- Reply START or UNSTOP to the number you previously received messages from, or
- Contact your contractor or employer to re-add you, or
- Email [email protected] with your request.
10. Supported Carriers
Our SMS service is supported on all major U.S. mobile carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, UScellular, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Service availability depends on your carrier.
11. No Sharing of Opt-In or Phone Number Data
Line Operations does not sell, rent, lease, or share your mobile phone number or your SMS opt-in/consent data with any third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in data and phone numbers are never shared with affiliates, partners, or any third party other than the service providers strictly necessary to deliver the messages you have consented to receive (for example, our SMS gateway provider).
For full details on how we handle personal information, see our Privacy Policy.
12. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to receive SMS messages from Line Operations. The program is intended for working linemen and is not directed to minors.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated via SMS to enrolled recipients or, where appropriate, through our website.
